SCFS Mtg “Treating Anthracnose” Thurs 2/14/19

Please join us Thursday evening, February 14, 2019, from 7-9pm at the Snohomish Boys & Girls Club, located at 402  2nd Street, Snohomish to hear Greg Giuliani speak to us about anthracnose in the orchard, how to recognize and then treat the disease.

Greg has been a Seattle Tree Fruit Society (STFS) member since the late 1990’s and has a small orchard of 30+ trees at his home between Woodinville and Duvall. Over the last 6 years, Greg has experimented, successfully, using petroleum jelly to inhibit apple anthracnose lesions from spreading reproductive spores in an effort to break that disease’s reproduction cycle in the orchard. Greg will give a power point presentation about how to recognize and treat the disease. What is really great is that the treatment is quick, easy, inexpensive and has zero collateral tissue damage!

Please come a few minutes early to meet some of our members and enjoy some snacks, desserts, and beverages. We will start our meeting promptly at 7pm with a short business overview.  We will continue to dedicate some time for a question & answer session for those members experiencing problems in their orchards (Please bring samples of your issue if possible), and then we will welcome our speaker. We look forward to another great year of learning and growing more & better fruit!

Snohomish Boys and Girls Club, 402  2nd Street, Snohomish, WA  98290.
The meeting is open to the public and everyone is invited.
