PFC Sept. 14 – Lisa DeVetter

PENINSULA FRUIT CLUB SEPT 14TH MEETING: Our presenter at the Sept 14 Fruit Club meeting is: Lisa Wasko DeVetter, Associate Professor, Small Fruit Horticulture. Lisa is from Washington State University Northwest Research and Extension Center (WSU NWREC, Mount Vernon). Lisa will give us an update on WSU NWREC’s mission and key projects, including providing info on blueberries. Due to her travel arrangements, Lisa will start presenting at 7:00 p.m. for approximately 40 minutes. The business meeting will be held afterwards. Join us at the Sheridan Park Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd., Bremerton. Doors open at 6:40 p.m.

PFC May 11 – Blueberries with Andrea Gergen

Join us on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Sheridan Park Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd., Bremerton to learn all about growing blueberries with Andrea Gergen, Master Gardener and member of Peninsula Fruit Club. Come at 6:40 pm for social time, meeting starts at 7.

PFC March 8 – Pruning blueberries

At this month’s meeting on Thursday, March 8, we will be watching a video about pruning blueberries in preparation for our Blueberry Park pruning session. We meet in the Sheridan Park Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd., Bremerton at 7 pm.

PFC June 8 – Blueberries

Our June meeting will feature Glenn Aldrich of Aldrich Berry Farm & Nursery http://aldrichberryfarm.com/history.html .  Glenn and his family are long-time blueberry growers and also sell plants.  Glenn will discuss all aspects of growing blueberries and have a question and answer session after his presentation.  We meet at 7 pm in the Sheridan Park Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd., Bremerton on Thursday, June 8.

PFC Blueberry Pruning Workshop

Do you need help learning how to prune your blueberries?  Join Peninsula Fruit Club members for a blueberry pruning workshop on Saturday, February 23, at 10 am at Blueberry Park in East Bremerton.  The address is 737 Sylvan Way, Bremerton http://goo.gl/maps/oSxtu .  Bring your pruning shears, loppers, and saws and get some hands-on experience learning how to prune to get good production from your blueberries.
