PFC 2016 Spring Grafting Show – March 5

SPRING GRAFTING SHOW presented by Peninsula Fruit Club, a Chapter of Western Cascade Fruit Society

LEARN HOW TO GRAFT and make your own fruit tree, or have one of our members make it for you.  BEGINNERS WELCOME!  Choose from many antique and modern varieties of apples, pears, and plums. We will be selling rootstock and scion wood for grafting and sticks of figs, grapes, and kiwis for rooting. Stock up on berries and other plants, footies for insect protection, grafting knives, mason bee houses, and other supplies. Learn all about pests and diseases and what to do about them.  Find out all about our native mason bees and how to care for them.  We’ll have lots of experts on hand to try to answer all your fruit related questions.  Spend some time with us at the show and learn all kinds of interesting things.  Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.

PFC August 13 – Berries

We are having a presentation about berries by Theresa Knutsen from Raintree Nursery at our next meeting on Thursday, August 13, at 7 pm in the Sheridan Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd., Bremerton.  Bring in samples of ripe fruit for tasting again too.  This is really our only chance to sample the early fruits since they won’t keep until our Fall Fruit Show on October 24.

Peninsula Fruit Club will hold the Spring Grafting Show on Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Silverdale Community Center, 9729 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale, WA.  Join us and stock up on scion wood, rootstock, grafting knives, footies, mason bee houses, miscellaneous potted and bare root trees and berries, and other supplies.  You can learn how to graft and make your own tree or have one of our members make it for you.  Come and learn chantix generic name about common pests and diseases and what to do about them.  Learn how to root a fig, grape, or kiwi, and take some home to try from our collection.  Find out all about our native mason bees and how to care for them.  Spend some time with us at the show and learn all kinds of interesting things.  Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.  Here’s a link to our show flyer:

PFC May meeting: Mushroom Lecture and Plant Sale

Peninsula Fruit Club’s next meeting will be Thursday, May 10, at the Sheridan Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd., Bremerton at 7 pm.  Lowell Dietz from Sequim http://dietzfarm.com/ will be teaching us about mushrooms and will have mushroom kits available for purchase.  Our May meeting is also our annual member plant sale fund chantix online sales raiser.  If you have extra vegetables, annuals, perennials, berries, bulbs, bushes, or just about anything, please bring some plants to donate.  It’s always fun to see what kinds of plants show up each year for us to buy and add to our yards.  All the proceeds will be donated to PFC.
